Bi-component heat-retaining cotton has high resilience; is resistant to deformation; is anti-moisture; can be washed with water or dry-cleaned; and can be widely used in a range of garments, such as quilts, shoes and caps. The material is versatile and is also used in other industries, such as the auto industry where it is used for both heat-retention and sound-insulation.

Product Introduction

Bi-component high efficiency heat-retaining cotton is made by mixing polypropylene superfine fibers with three-dimensional hollow polyester short fibers, creating a durable, strong, tear-resistant material for use in garments to keep people warm in cold environments. As well the high efficiency, the product is also cost-effective when compared with other, similar materials.

The hollow polyester fibers have a curling shape, with good flexibility and the structure of an obturator. Through heat fusion, the polyester fibres adhere to the polypropylene fibres, thus creating a solid three dimensional net structure with better consolidation, integrity and fluffiness. This, in turn, leads to better ventilation and heat-retention, and means the material stays warm and is light, comfortable and mold-resistant. The resulting garment is both high-grade and fashionable.

Product Performance

  • The bi-component thermal padding material is white and soft.

  • The solid net structure is consolidated by mixing two kinds of fibre; it has a comparably larger area and a lighter weight.

  • Compared with normal fibers, bi-component fibers have a higher block function for the emanation of heat quantity, which means they have a better heat-retaining effect.
  • The material dries easily after dampening. Its moisture regain rate is close to zero, and it is therefore, quite suitable to be used in damp and cold environments.
  • It is a mix of two kinds of fiber with different diameters; has good flexibility; and can be used for heat-retention and sound-insulation in the auto industry.
